Children and their families are best cared for if they can remain in the community near each other. Connie Maxwell Children's Home understands this and has created satellite campuses such as the Marie Younts Home in Mauldin. This residential care facility houses six girls in its initial program. The students are involved at Mauldin High School in all facets of school life. Students are encouraged to seek outside employment and maintain a degree of independence that teaches them responsibility. The girls are also quite active in a local South Carolina Baptist Church participating in Bible study, worship and missions. Area churches and businesses are getting involved in the lives of these teenage girls and discovering the real joy in providing tender loving care. If you would like to become involved or need assistance email Marie Younts Home or call 1 (864) 963-3773. Rhetta Jones serves as director in Mauldin.
